Things to look for and to know that are critical

What is Hospice?

Hospice is normally called in when the patient is too sick or is starting to suffer or has pain.  This is normally when Hospice is called in.  The problem here is the minute the patient is put on hospice they administer morphine.  The minute this happens you will notice a major decline in the patients weight and health!!  Why? Morphine normally will cut their appetite while easing the pain also.  Patients start to sleep more and care less.  The fight for life lessens. 

I had nurses tell me the minute when a patient is giving to HOSPICE, you might as well start saying goodbye.  It's a matter of time before the patient passes on.

Injuries, Bruses, Falls and Scars

Yes, we clearly understand that accidents happen.  However, when you see scars on their bodies, back, arms or face something is wrong.

Diagnosing the patient and their illness is important also.  Our investigators specialize in this field.  They obtain medical reports, ask the proper questions and automatically obtain protocol and procedure forms from the facility to get a more clear understanding on what needs to be done.

If you have a dementia patient in a regular facility they might not have the proper restraints (nor are licensed for this).  Combative patients normally test employee's to the point where these employee's are not trained to deal with Alzhiemers / Dementia patients which lead to combative outcomes where employees defend themselves or are struck, they sometimes fight back not knowing what to do (due to lack of training) etc.,etc.

Over Medicating & Not Dealing with the Patient

What happens when you have the combative patient? The nursing staff might alienate them.  They disregard if they eat or don't, because they are affraid to deal with the patient.  Is this right?  No.  However, this is a known problem nationwide!! Nursing staff's are known to over medicate patients in order not to deal with them.   As a matter of fact they sometimes give also the wrong medication which you will clearly notice when you visit the next day.  You will notice that the patient was uplifting and happy the day before and the next day they are sleepy, out of it and incoherent!
